Butterflies is about a lot of things. How some people expect you to "grow out of" punk rock. How talking to girls is difficult no matter how confident you've become. How awesome it is to have a crush on someone. And how people have expectations of you that you may not always be able to meet.
This is definitely our favorite song to play and we pretty much always close with it.
lyrics
When I was young they'd say
One day you'll grow out of it
It's just a phase
Now I'm grown up and they say
I thought you'd have grown out of it
by now what can I say
How can I explain my self?
I guess in many ways
I don't think I'll ever grow up
at least not today
And I still get the shakes
when you you give me butterflies
dunno what to say
And I'm still waiting to grow into these shoes that I am supposed to fill
And I'm still waiting to grow into these hand me down clothes who knows who knows
How can I explain myself
I'm giving it all I've got?
